The opportunity
Reporting to the COO, you’ll lead the commercial function, combining hands-on business development with team leadership and operational oversight. You’ll be responsible for revenue generation, commercial operations, and partner strategy while coaching and supporting Business Development Managers and Sales Admin.
This is a 60/40 role: 60% focused on external sales and strategic partnerships, 40% focused on leadership, internal enablement, and systems development.
You’ll work across three core go-to-market channels: directly with large, multi-site commercial and industrial customers; through channel partners such as solar integrators, battery providers and automation specialists; and via white-label or SaaS models with energy market participants leveraging the platform’s modular capabilities.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading and executing the sales strategy across all three market channels
- Coaching and managing Business Development Managers and support staff
- Owning CRM and pipeline reporting, including system optimisation
- Building senior relationships across commercial, industrial, logistics, mining and government sectors
- Driving high-value deals and consultative sales across mid- to long-cycle timeframes
- Collaborating with product and delivery teams to ensure client success
- Providing market intelligence and strategic input to product and go-to-market planning
- Representing the company at industry events, forums and client engagements
About you
You’re a senior commercial leader with the ability to both sell and scale. You’ve built trusted relationships with clients, led teams through ambiguity, and helped growing businesses sharpen their operations without losing momentum.
You’re as comfortable pitching to a boardroom as you are mentoring a junior BDM, and you know that scalable growth depends on good systems, clear accountability, and commercial discipline.
In addition, you will have:
- Highly developed experience in commercial or strategic enterprise sales roles, with recent leadership experience
- Deep experience in B2B energy, SaaS, sustainability, or smart infrastructure
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage operational reporting and systems
- Confidence with long-cycle sales and consultative solution selling
- A strategic mindset with strong financial and analytical skills
- A passion for clean tech, electrification and driving carbon reduction outcomes
