The role This is a newly created role to develop a clear strategic direction for the Workplace Health & Safety division, analysing data and providing robust policy improvement to support and guide operational activity. Your role will include: Reviewing current capability gaps in the health and safety risk management framework. Leading the risk assessment and control measures across NSW working with each aged care facility on ensuring controls are being implemented and are meeting contractual and legal responsibilities and requirements. Reviewing health and safety risk policies, processes, practices and documentation to ensure good governance and appropriate systems are in place to manage key business risks. Leading and managing the health and safety risk management strategies. Ensuring teams are maintaining and adhering to hazardous material management plans to identify and manage any instances of contamination and/or hazardous materials within the facilities. Undertaking training of facilities management staff to be able to perform their WH&S compliance tasks. Some travel to sites will be required from time to time. About you You are an experienced Workplace Health & Safety professional ideally from a high-risk organisation or industry with safety critical workers and environments. You have a passion to support a mission driven organisation that values people, both internal staff and their aged care clients and want to create the best possible environment for them. In addition, you will have: Extensive experience in a similar WHS/Risk Management role Sound knowledge and experience of Workers Compensation legislation and insurance. Demonstrated stakeholder management and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Sound investigative and analysis capabilities with the ability to develop and improve standards, policies & procedures to achieve WHS objectives Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Work Health and Safety Legislation and Codes of Practice.
